An awesome city : Dubai

If you didn’t see Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) yet then you should plan to do it very soon. This is a destination that any traveler should not miss, a “must see” place it’s how i like to call it. Dubai is know for it’s fantastic architecture , with many spectacular building being built every year but also known for the vibrant nightlife and luxury shopping. What can you see in Dubai ?

Dubai Creek separates the city into two towns, with Deira to the north and Bur Dubai to the south. The creek has been an influential element in the city’s growth, first attracting settlers here to fish and pearl dive. Small villages grew up alongside the creek as far back as 4,000 years ago, while the modern era began in the 1830s when the Bani Yas tribe settled in the area. The Dhow Wharfage is located along Dubai Creek’s bank, north of Al-Maktoum Bridge. Still used by small traders from across the Gulf, some of the dhows anchored here are well over 100 years old. You can visit here, watching cargo being loaded and unloaded on and off the dhows. Dhow workers often invite visitors onto the vessels for a tour, where you can gain insight into the life of these traditional sailors. Many of the dhows here travel onward to Kuwait, Iran, Oman, India, and down to Africa’s horn. This tiny remnant of Dubai’s traditional economy is still a bustling and fascinating place to wander around.

The iconic trademark of Dubai is of course Burj Khalifa sky tower, that at 829.8 meters tall stands proudly as the world’s tallest building. You can visit the observation deck on the 124th floor for a gravity-defying, jaw-dropping view. You can also make some stunning selfies there, guaranteed! See extra details at Travel to Dubai.

Look into the future at the world’s largest manmade marina, Dubai Marina. Marvel at iconic buildings as you stroll along Marina Walk or see the sights from the water on a traditional dhow cruise. This New Dubai hotspot is on every visitor’s holiday itinerary for a reason, and with an array of waterside restaurants to choose from, as well as irresistible retail therapy at Dubai Marina Mall, it’s easy to while away an afternoon here. Feeling brave? Take on the XLine, the world’s longest urban zipline.

Another huge reason to visit Dubai is the World EXPO 2020. That will be a sight to behold! The Expo 2020 site will feature pavilions dedicated to countries from around the world, with 75 entertainment events hosted every single day. There will be live performances from world-famous stars and comedy greats, cultural experiences from poetry slams to fashion shows and talks with the world’s top academics. There will be mindfulness sessions, extreme sports and everything in between. And there will be innovation – whether it’s make-your-own robot workshops or exhibitions showcasing the latest 3D printing technology. It’s even possible to go under the sea or walk through a simulated Arabian wadi at the interactive Terra Exhibition. Every day during the 173 days of Expo 2020, a different country will be featured in a cultural showcase that includes parades and other festivities. And the fun doesn’t stop at sunset, because there will be fireworks displays and entertainment into the early hours. Basically, it’ll be massive.
